WingfootRanger 2746
This deck combines the strong control abilities of Eleanor and Balin with the resource acceleration and card draw of Arwen Undómiel and Elven-light. It makes for a strong multiplayer questing deck that consistently nullifies the worst treacheries and shadow effects. Added to this, a splash of grants healing and more card draw.
Opening Hand
Elven-light and a handful of allies is often the ideal starting hand. For playing the allies, Song of Wisdom or Stand and Fight gets them in play. Just discard one of them via Arwen Undómiel and bring it back with Stand and Fight. I usually save resources on Balin for a few rounds and play cards later, just so there can be a buffer against shadow cards.
Gameplay
The Heroes
Arwen Undómiel and Balin will go questing and Eleanor stays ready to cancel a nasty treachery. Saving about 2 resources on Balin is usually enough, depending on the number of players and enemies in play. If you have resources to spare, King Under the Mountain grants extra card draw.
Early, Mid, and Late Game
Normally, it is best to focus on playing allies in the early game in order to accumulate . An early Elven-light or Gléowine greatly helps the pace of the deck. In the mid game, it is more likely you will have the ability to play the allies. Warden of Healing will keep allies alive, Gléowine draws cards, and Anfalas Herdsman makes the Ethir Swordsman more enduring. In the late game, you will likely be questing for quite a lot and drawing many cards. Over the long run, the persistent treachery and shadow cancellation and healing provides security for the players' board state.
Tricks and Tips
- Don't forget Balin can be exhausted for We Are Not Idle to gain a resource if necessary.
- The Stand and Fight method plays off-sphere allies for cheap since discarding the ally via Arwen Undómiel gives a resource.
- Errand-rider can smooth or share resources and ensures that Balin does not have too few or too many resources.
Success
This decks has worked very well. It shuts down many awful encounter card effects while supporting the fellow players. It is also quite straightforward and easy to use. It has capably supplied its control and support elements in games against nightmare Into the Pit and nightmare The Seventh Level, among other quests.
