Be selective on what you spend your Lore resources on. In the beginning it's important to have Forest Snare ready whenever the Troll engages you. Prepare for Stage II by with Unexpected Courage and playing a lot of allies. After your prep is complete, you should focus on completing Stage II within one or two rounds. Afterwards it should be an easy ride to victory :)
