Elrond and his family are ready to go on a well-deserved vacation!

This deck does pretty well overall. There are three main issues - card draw, high threat, and questing. Although it is a good all around deck. Most cards have a low cost, so card draw is imperative. But it's fun thematically and important to spend time with family.

Starting hand would ideally have a shield or a cloak for Elrohir and some card draw. Everything is low cost so you can play your hand relatively easily. Angbor is pretty useful with this high-threat deck. Steward of Gondor should probably go on Elrohir for more blocks, but it depends on who you are playing with. Try to look for a hand with a shield or a cloak to give Elrohir a better defense boost.

Celebrian was merely added for the theme (she is/was Elrond's wife), but Valiant Sacrifice or Heir of Mardil could be potential options. Elrond's council works thematically and helps mitigate the high-threat.

Wilyador could be easily substituted as needed. The Helm, Thalion, and Envoy of Pelargir are possible options. Light of Valinor and Silver Harp could be reduced or removed for questing spirit allies if more questing is needed.

Help this wonderful family get a little more family time!

When The Fortress of Nurn will come out you might consider the Shining Shield instead of the Gondorian Shield. I would also recommend a couple of A Good Harvest, resource smoothing is key in Bond of Friendship decks

risky. why not take the one ring additionally? ;)

very thematic of course, but can it beat heavy quests? i wonder if it makes anduin nightmare.

1-2 changes might help:

i would replace derndingle warrior with feint. the usual enemys you will defend with elrohir and against the big ones the derndingle warrior will also die. so why pay 2 res, risk a bad shadow and have the defend a round later? the feint ismuch more effective and cheaper.

put in vilya. even if its blind, when used in the refreshphase only foehammer and test of will has no use all others have. i would discard 1 treebeard and one wilyador for 2 vilya

what is the silver harp for? only for arwen discard? i think thats not worth it. would reduce silver harp and light of valinor for 2 courages (this brings additional less risk for blind vilya if light is out)

would replace 1 celebrian stone with captains wisdom. all are noble, very flexible use.

angbor is nice, but 2 times? would replace the 2. with a veteran or merry

if you put in vilya, the i would replace the 2. of the uniques (gleowine and ioreth) perhaps with hammersmith to get a used cram back or a attachement discardet by arwen.

hope my thoughts where welcome ;)

Thanks for all the suggestions, they are definitely welcome! I'll try them out next time I play the deck.

Haha, no I don't think it can beat the hardest quests. It should do alright on most moderate as well as a few difficult quests.

D’oh. You beat me to it. These are four of my favorite heroes and I’ve been working on a deck like this too but haven’t quite settled on a version I like. There’s actually not a whole lot of crossover between my deck and yours which is interesting and cool that that there are so many possibilities for decks that are even constrained due to the contract. I found it really hard to figure exactly what cards to include. I’ll have to give this version a try.

I agree these heroes are fun to play. There's so much variety in deck building, it's fun to see other players' strategies. I hope you post your deck too, I'd like to see how you built it.

Here is my deck. It’s not published but hopefully you can see it. Still needs some tweaking. There are some fun combos in there I like. I may sub in some of the cards from your deck to make it better. ringsdb.com

Awesome, thanks for sharing. I will be doing some subbing in from your deck as well!
