Purely theoretical "what-if" deck in response to a discussion of whether or not a MotK Gray Wandering Elrond or Galadriel deck could, in theory, beat some quests.

The challenge is to get a Swordthained Stewarded Ally into play Turn 1 with as much other ally support as possible, so that you can continue on past round 1 when Galadriel is discarded.

It's theoretically possible, against easier quests, which I guess is the low bar I was trying to clear :)

This I guess was done knowing that a player cannot select more than one contract during Setup.

@Alonewolf87-- correct, this was a purely "academic" exercise in response to someone posing a "WHAT IF" should one combine Gray Wanderer and MotK with a "leaves at the end of the round" hero.

Another work around would be to use Helm of Secrecy and try to swap Galadriel/Elrond into Sp-Glorfindel or Gollum prior to the end of the first round.

How about using To the Sea, to the Sea! as a possible second starting attachment (in case you draw Song of Wisdom) to more easily play some of the allies (perhaps adding Galdor of the Havens too).

@Alonewolf87-- not a bad idea. Personally, I play with Player Card set-up effects happening in Step 2 of Set Up (despite Caleb's most recent ruling placing them all in Step 7), because this keeps it consistent with earlier rulings (e.g. Thurindir and ASitE's rulebook). Especially since Caleb has said he is revisiting and reflecting upon that ruling and the community seems largely to think it's the "wrong call" regarding Set Up timing. But yes, if I played them in Step 7, I'd consider To the Sea To the Sea or a second copy of Song of Wisdom.

Are you aware of the broken interaction between Sneak Attack and Sword-thain? Since the ally is no longer an ally, they don't get returned to your hand. That way you only need 5 resources to make any (non-neutral) ally into a hero.

@teamjimbyoh my goodness, you're right! I forgot all about that little trick. Sneaks would definitely make this experiment even more reliable.
