Here is my updated version of Seastan's classic Boromir deck, with newer cards, tailored for Steward's Fear nightmare, in pure solo.

The 2 Mounts are key cards to gain Locations control.

You can also replace the allies with the Spirit and Lore Outlands usual combo.

So the changes from Seastan's deck are:

-1x Warden of Healing -1x Ancient Mathom -1x Gondorian Shield -1x Nenya -2x Daeron's Runes -2x Hasty Stroke

+2x Steed of Imladris +3x Silver Harp +1x Unexpected Courage +1x A Test of Will +2x Sterner than Steel +1x Will of the West

Out of curiosity, do you have a guess for the success rate of Seastan's deck against NM Steward's Fear, and how much this deck improves on it?

Yep, those changes are right.

I came close with Seastan's version, tried 6 or 7 times. The updated version won on the third try.

BUT... the deck is strong, but it really depends on what Plot you draw and how the encounter deck ''treats'' you... The strongest decks still struggle with this nasty quest!

Cool!

One suggestion I have for this quest: swap out Spirfindel for Lorefindel.

You take a big initial threat hit, but you get a lot in return. First, you get easier access to a quick Asfaloth, which is a huge deal here as location lock causes many loses. Second, Local Trouble is a complete showstopper for the original deck, but Lorefindel with LoV laughs at it. Third, you can swap out your Handmaidens (which drop like flies to the Zealous Traitor) and put in a suite of 2 WP 2+ HP lore allies.

I'd also recommend 3x Shield and 2x Blood rather than the other way around, especially if you're depending on Sterner than Steel now.

@Seastan : I tried a modified version with Lorfindel, but 2 things seems to happen (I tried 7 times) :

-I thread out early -Boromir dies (he can't get his equipment in time)
