INTRODUCTION

Well, who knew I will ever choose to include Beorning Beekeeper, Thalin and Hail of Stones in any of my decks again ;). To be honest, this deck served me really well in some older quests. There are a lot of cool combos here, give it a shot and experiment! I would love to pair it with a + deck that would support it with some location control, treachery cancellation, healing and even more direct damage (a Ranger-Trap deck maybe ;))?

STRATEGY

Make sure to boost your initial willpower (I always pray for e.g. Grimbold + Celebrían's Stone in my opening hand), especially when playing solo. Quest with Thalin and Mablung.

Denethor and Mablung work really great together, remember to use Denethor's ability! Also, Mablung's ability is only phase-limited, remember that! Sometimes enemies engage you in different phases and you get resource every time. Often it's just enough to gain that precious extra resource for Feint or Swift Strike.

Thalin + Fresh Tracks + Gondorian Spearman + Spear of the Citadel is guaranteed 4 damage. And if you add Swift Strike to that, it's 6.

Hail of Stones can be great to kill a fat boss or to simply finish off a wounded enemy in the staging area, especially after staging, but before the questing phase ends, to boost your . It can be really useful for if you have some low allies that you didn't commit to the quest. It can be a really sweet card, give it a shot!

Ranger of Cardolan is here for his great rounded stats. You don't control any Dunedain hero so his response can't be triggered, but that's alright, just pay 4 resources for him, it's worth it.

I tried to include a decent amount of here, I've beaten Journey Along the Anduin a few times with great success ;).

SIDEBOARD

Sideboard includes some events I'd love to test some more, they could be fun ;). Hold the Line is especially worth mentioning here - it would allow to choose multiple Gondorian Spearmans and characters with Spear of the Citadel for a really strong direct damage combo!

There are also some more allies (or additional copies of allies already included) that I would consider adding if needed.

Initially I had Grappling Hook here, but I had to cut it, the of many of those allies is not THAT much worse than their value.
