Far too perilous

Fredmans 102

Description

This fellowship was built for Peril in Pelargir, two-handed solo.

Outlands: This deck was built using mono-leadership to use the leadership event to ready all allies. Théodred and Steward of Gondor is used to boost Hirluin's economy enough to play the other sphere Outlands allies.

Gondor: This deck uses Beregond with readying effects to withstand the initial onslaught. Boromir with Daggers of Westernesse uses his ability to both battle quest and ready to take down an enemy as well.

I am going to give this fellowship a try! Hopefully within the next week or two. I have not played this scenario yet, and I also want to try an Outlands deck (which I have not played before). It will be interesting to see how the Lampwright fares (the marshmallow man), I have not been impressed with that card so far, but he may do great in Pelargir. BTW, I like the title of your fellowship... a reference to MP Holy Grail perhaps?

Hi, and good luck! It is indeed an hommage to Monthy Python. The lamp wrights are unfortunately more often sacrificed to block than to use their ability, although I did pull it off once. They do fit the small Spirit resource pool.

I finally got a chance to play this fellowship against Peril in Pelargir. I managed to beat the scenario (in the 9th round), and I enjoyed using this fellowship. It was great to finally try an Outlands deck and cards like A Very Good Tale. The mono-leadership lineup was a great strategy for the Outlands deck.

It looked bleak for a few rounds because the Gondor deck got hit hard by shadow effects and the Zealous Traitor - I had to discard my entire hand, discard all my resources, and twice I lost all my allies (most are squishy 1-hit allies). But then I caught a break when West Road Traveller died while defending and I had 2 Valiant Sacrifice cards to play (Outlands deck) to get back a hand of cards.

Some cards that did great in my game play: Boromir for battle quest and using his ability to ready and attack. White Tower Watchman with the Sword of Morthond was an awesome defender. Eleanor cancelled a few bad treacheries and also defended nicely with Gondorian Shield. Late in the game I used Strength of Arms to quest for a huge amount and then defend/attack to clear all enemies from play. That was a fun moment. The Honour Guard is a great inclusion to offset the Assassin (especially in Valour).

I only used Prince Imrahil's ability once in the game. He battle quested early in the game, but later I held him back to attack enemies. Or I had no reason to ready him. I can see, though, how he could be useful depending on how the cards come out as the game progresses.
