Eagles of the Misty Mountains is the driving force of the eagle deck. While overcosted at first, there are so many ways eagles can leave play that these guys will be beasts in a couple turns. Support of the Eagles adds to the madness. So if you have four resources laying around and one of these in hand, you know what to do.

The centerpiece and big payoff card of most Eagle decks, Eagles of the Misty Mountains not only has the longest name among player cards in the game but also a long history of epitomitzng the fantastic combat output Eagles can muster, especially mid- to late-game. This ally reaches 5+ attack/defense really quickly, making it a combat machine, even more so if combined with further cards around it such as Radagast's Staff or Support of the Eagles. Its 2 willpower can also be very, very helpful in an otherwise willpower-starved archetype and sphere. Overall a great card with amazing upside and a fantastically versatile presence on the table (even if not yet boosted).
