Tall Ents and short Hobbits make for a fairly Human average deck height!

I have always enjoyed having Ents splashed in my decks and it felt about time to make an Ent-dedicated deck. Hobbits seemed the logical choice for heroes as they can pick-and-choose which enemies to enegage whilst you work to get your board state set up (Ents are powerful but they sure aren't hasty).

Merry gets a good boost from the other Hobbit heroes in play and helps with character readying, and Tom Cotton allows out of sphere ally plays (hello Rosie), with some bonus attack power and good defence. He can hold the fort whilst waiting for the Ents to ready. Pippin adds a little card draw and engagement fun for enemies once your threat starts to get a little higher.

I have added a few Hobbit allies to fill up the pool - Rosie is as powerful as ever and acts as Hobbit support for whatever situation. Farmer Maggot allows some direct damage and can join in with questing or attacks as the need arises.

To help the halflings along is Dagger of Westernesse (for Merry), Fast Hitches, Friend of Friends, Halfling Determination and Take No Notice. This should help with temporary and permanent boosts and readying, as well as keeping those pesky enemies off your back.

The rest is all Ents. I have added at least one copy of each Ent, with just one copy of most of the unique ones, with the exception of Quickbeam and Treebeard who are just too good and need to get out on the table. Wellinghall Preserver is key as most of the Ents get buffed when damaged, but you don't want the damage to get out of control; he is also the king of willpower. Elf-Stone should help with getting some of the more expensive allies out. Entmoot helps in getting out those allies that you want as a priority, and Boomed and Trumpeted and The Dam Bursts give some readying. Once you have a few Ents on the board you should be able to clear most enemies with ease and ust keep building on that.

Last of all is 3 copies of Resourceful. As you will be starting at 20 threat having a copy or two of Resourceful in hand is perfect. Ideally the first one should go on Pippin to pay for the Lore cards. Then, use Woodmen's Clearing as much as you can to get yoru threat back down so you can play any further copies of Resourceful you may come across in the early stages of the game. 4 cost for Resourceful isn't really good value so if you only manage to get the one copy into play on Pippin don't worry too much.

That's about it - just manage your engagements whilst you setup your board and then enjoy stomping on/through everything that appears!
