Pretty much like Catastrophic09's deck (https://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/11870/doomedandout-1.0), the purpose of this one is to support a 2nd deck and commit suicide to reveal less encounter cards. Although it has some improvements:

  • This deck dies by threat before the quest phase, which means one less encounter during staging immediately in round 1
  • Reduces the 2nd player's threat by a whooping 31, with the help of The Fall of Gil-Galad on Treebeard and 3x The Galadhrim's Greeting
  • When this deck dies at the end of the planning phase, the 2nd deck has extra 6 cards thanks to 3x Deep Knowledge, and around 15 resources thanks to 3x Legacy of Númenor, 2x Parting Gifts, and 1x Steward of Gondor
  • Some other gifts include 1x Resourceful, 1x Risk Some Light for a controlled 1st turn, and maybe 1x Song of Kings and/or 1x Song of Travel (you may swap these last 2 cards for some other gifts, like 1x Magic Ring!)
  • ... And all this with 99,99% consistency, because you're 99,99% guaranteed to draw your whole deck!

Do you really draw your whole deck?

Yes. You begin with 6 cards in hand. 1 from initial draw (7). 4 from Bilbo plus Erestor (11). 6 from Deep Knowledge (17), 9 from Mithrandir's Advice (26) and another 9 from Scroll of Isildur + Mithrandir's Advice (35). 3 from Justice Shall Be Done (38), 3 from Drinking Song (41). 6 from Daeron's Runes (47), and 3 from We Are Not Idle (50). And I didn't count The Seeing-stone and Heed the Dream

And do you have enough resources to do all this during turn 1?

Yes, thanks to Love of Tales + the song cards (including Drinking Song!), Justice Shall Be Done, and Song of Kings + Legacy of Númenor, you generate more than enough resources (21 total). Add Good Meal+Song of Travel on Bilbo to play The Galadhrim's Greeting for only 1 resource.

Ok ok. How do you pilot this?

I usually don't even need to take a mulligan, although some cards to look for are Justice Shall Be Done, Mithrandir's Advice, Song of Kings + Legacy of Númenor, and Deep Knowledge. Drinking Song is basically a mulligan card + deck thinner so it's also a great sight in your initial hand.

You need to die by threat at the end of the planning phase, and that's guaranteed with 3x Deep Knowledge and 3x Legacy of Númenor (18 extra threat + your initial threat of 32).

The first movements should be oriented to draw your whole deck and generating resources. 1 Song of Kings is for Erestor, and 1 Song of Kings + 1 Song of Travel is for Bilbo. When using resources always use Treebeard's first. Bilbo needs to use 4 resources for the Spirit cards; Erestor should pay for Steward of Gondor. I already mentioned the cards you want to see in your initial hand, so let's talk about the cards that are for the very last movements:

  • Play Desperate Alliance on Treebeard (with The Fall of Gil-Galad attached)
  • Play Vanish From Sight to gain secrecy and avoid death until the end of the planning phase
  • Play the last Doomed cards that would otherwise kill you (usually the last Legacy of Númenor)
  • Play Risk Some Light for free
  • Play Resourceful for 1 resource
  • Play the last Song cards if you want to
  • Use Parting Gifts on both Bilbo and Erestor
  • End your planning phase

Finally, the 2nd deck triggers Treebeard's ability five times to destroy him and reduce his threat by 13! Now you move onto the quest phase, Vanish From Sight effect ends and therefore the suicidal deck has accomplished it's goal.

While building this deck and writting all this, I thought about cards like Bifur hero + Henamarth Riversong ally + Unlikely Friendship, and Scroll of Isildur + Bartering + Sword Tháin and the effects it would generate on future Scrolls of Isildur and Mithrandir's Advices, besides the extra resources you'd gain for having an extra hero. That's for another oportunity :)
