This is my attempt at a Forth, The Three Hunters! contract.

The premise is simple: Heir of Mardil goes on Gimli. This allows you to quest all 3 heroes first turn. Gimli receives the resource from Théodred, which readies him. Then after you engage an enemy, use Gimli's ability to ready Legolas.

Rinse. Repeat.

For the rest of the attachments: anything to get you to flip. You would love to see Raiment of War in your opening hand, as 1 red resource and one of your heroes is ready. I flipped reliably by turn 2 on most quests.

In the ideal setup:

  • Legolas gets 2 War Axe + Rohan Warhorse. This will get him to a 9 , and he's able to attack 2x if you kill the first enemy. If you readied him with Gimli's ability, then he's actually a 10 . Also, want to snipe an enemy in the staging? Play Hands Upon the Bow, and then ready Legolas with a war horse. Also, put one of the Vigilant Guard's on him, as a way to redirect damage from the defender. If you need more progress but are okay with lower attack, put Blade of Gondolin.

  • Gimli gets all the defense bonuses: Ancestral Armor, Armored Destrier, and Round Shield. The Destrier will allow you to defend twice, or ready Theodred so that you'll have even more attack if needed. Or, omit the shield, and give him a War Axe, so once he defended and readied, he can attack for 5.

  • Théodred is here for his ability and some additional punch, but his attack/defense is not necessary for the deck to work. He usually ended up with a Raiment of War, a Rohan Warhorse/Bow of Yew/War Axe - depending on the quest. I always put another Vigilant Guard on Theodred, just in case of a particularly brutal attack.

As this deck does not have great card draw, Prepare for Battle really helps with getting extra cards. Well-Equipped has gotten me a number of free attachments on Gimli. Feint has definitely saved me on a number of quests with a beefy enemy coming in on turn 1 and no defensive attachments on Gimli yet.
