I have no idea how well this deck will do. It's my plan to play test it with Journey Along the Anduin. I anticipate Bilbo knocking down the Hilltroll will be good.

Premise? Well, Pippin gets the Ring, solely because he doesn't do much besides questing. There aren't a lot of great targets for Pippin, so ideally he gets stone of Elostirion (Leather Boots is a proxy for it) as his second one. Merry ought to get 2x Ring Mail, or Windfola, and of course Hobbit Pony. Bilbo gets Sting and Hobbit Pony. The rest of the attachments are for gravy for after the contract flips.

Try to get at least one Fast Hitch/Unexpected Courage on Bilbo, ideally two, as he has a great quest action, and is a decent defender and attacker with Sting. Throw Friend of Friends on him and Pippin and suddenly he is a force to reckon with.

The events are there to make sure we can hold off enemies until the board is set up. Obviously we want a contract flip. But the rest are there for triggering abilities (Late Adventurer if you can't get the ponies in early enough) , buying some time (Tom Bombadillo!), and direct damage (Arrows from the Trees, Ride Them Down). Short Cut is a way to speed up the Necklace of Girion or stone, if they are attached to locations.

I have a feeling this deck doesn't work well because of the lack of hit points, firepower, and the pace. But I would like to try it, because it is a fun combo.

I haven't sat down and done the math, but I imagine the willpower could actually outstrip the staging area threat pretty quickly, and thus you could sneak out of the game without killing too many enemies directly.

I've found in my Three Hobbit Treasure Hunters you can get serious questing power. Bilbo's ability and getting the contract to flip are significant boosts. You'll probably just have to quest with all them early on. Once the contract flips you can get by with one or two of them questing. It helps if you can keep the staging area pretty clear.
