chumbathewumba 5

chumbathewumba has a newer deck inspired by this one: Dain (and Gildor) Rallies The West

This is my first published deck and I really like Dáin Ironfoot and and the idea of milling through your deck to look for the cards you need. I was playing with a deck created my Mr. Underhill using Dain, Arwen Undómiel, and Gandalf and found milling through the deck to look for Ethir Swordsman was very efficient. Attack strength was a problem and so I tweaked it to include 3x Knights of the Swan to boost attack power and used it to beat Shadow and Flame. That got me thinking about messing around with the idea and trying to see if milling out outlands allies could work. I've included all the revival cards to aid in the process but I've left out Reforged purposely as I'm currently using it in another deck. Second Breakfast is there incase you discard (and maybe even need to mill it out) an Armor of Erebor or a Steward of Gondor. There is already an Erestor flash outlands deck and it is way more effective than this one I'm sure but still I could not resist the urge to make this deck.

Resource acceleration is not a problem I've had testing this deck out a few times. I've had problems actually getting the allies out into play. I was using The Day's Rising on Dain to help with resource but found that he never really needed it and it took to much to set up anyway. I will remove it for King Under the Mountain or maybe A Very Good Tale to help get those allies into play quickly.

So far it isnt consistent enough and relies heavily on Ethir Swordsman to really have a chance to hold out long enough for help to arrive. I will continue messing around with this deck and switching cards in and out to help it run more smoothly. I was able to beat Escape From Umbar after a couple of tries and once it does get set up its very strong (its outlands after all) so there's a light!

Made the changes adding 2x King Under the Mountain and 3x A Very Good Tale and Removed 3x Test of Will and 2x The Day's Rising. Also switched Denethor for Gildor Inglorion because once I get steward on Hirluin I start using Gildor to find cards and this deck needs the boost in willpower in case you dont get Ethir Swordsman in the first few turns. Been much more successful and will update with the current cards I'm using
