On my quest to find a good Burglar’s Turn deck that is also thematic I give you a twist on the Rohan archetype. The setting is pre-Helm’s Deep and in Meduseld in Edoras. King Theoden is wise and at the height of his power, his riders having claimed many relics thought lost to middle earth and storing them in his hall.
It turns out they are pretty good at clearing locations with The Riddermark’s Finest and Ride to Ruin. Grima helps you play The Muster of Rohan any round you draw it as well as helps provide resource smoothing and access to the location trickery Lore provides.
Mulligan for Gamling and Strider’s Path, the former helped Rohan work and the latter can net you a burgled attachment round one due to the high questing potential of the heroes.
Ghan-Buri-Ghan is great for double dipping on traveling to a second location if after traveling to a location you can clear it with Riddermark’s Finest, Ride to Ruin and/or Mirkwood Pioneer. Throw all the artifacts on the King and turn him into a monster defender/attacker with Eowyn/Grima bearing any restricts treasures that the king cannot.
It has performed reasonably well in my early tests and often able to get a round 1 Burglar card and continue from there sometimes netting two a round.
I hope you guys enjoy my take on Rohan.
a burglerdeck that seems worth it! i would perhaps add some drinking and or deep nowledge songs to make sure to get striders path early
if you use grima often perhaps some greetings of the galadrim are needed.
