"That's a lot of cards for only having one purple hero," they said*. They were right. But it is a perfectly reasonable amount of purple cards for three heroes.

Opening Hand

What you must keep in mind at all times with this deck is that getting the Fellowship buff online as soon as possible. To this end, you want to look for Steward of Gondor above all other cards, cuz unique allies are expensive. Failing that, all of your heroes are Noble, so Captain's Wisdom can give any of them the money to pay for friendship.

The allies you want to see early are Fili and Kili - you can replace them later, but they get the buff online. You also want to see Emery, but she is in the supporting deck. Yell at that player to mulligan for her at all costs.

Heroes

In the opener, I mentioned three purple heroes. Those are, of course, Gimli, Círdan, and (MotK) Ceorl. This deck runs alongside another deck rocking Messenger of the King, which focuses on passing this deck allies (and also Ceorl).

To take advantage of the extra stats from Fellowship, we want good action economy. That means built-in ready effects. Legolas can ready Gimli, who can ready Legolas again. Círdan equipped with Narya can ready your favorite allies. Círdan himself receives the Light of Valinor from the supporting deck.

Allies

Again, action economy is the key here. Gotta use all of them bonus stats. Treebeard and Wiglaf can ready themselves, and Angbor the Fearless doesn't exhaust to quest if you're valorous (yell at the supporting player to keep your threat down if this happens, however).

But the real treat is that Fellowship doesn't just buff unique characters. The supporting deck has all sorts of non-unique allies (and also Emery) to hand off for those juicy stat increases.

Combat

If you stack Ancestral Armor, Armor of Erebor, Arwen's buff, and Hauberk of Mail on Gimli, he can block for either player for 8 (if Fellowship is up and running). Heck, even Summon's Kili can block for 7 with sentinel at that point. With the whole team online, you should have a mob of mooks to attack with.

Just keep in mind that the supporting player's block is taking undefended attacks on Glorfindel, so they might come whining to you for some Sentinel and Ranged.

*Nobody actually said that, it was just a good opener.
