FingolfinFate 15

This deck is not going to win every time against every quest but it is very solid overall and especially fun to play, as well as being thematic.

Steward or Tale are great opening cards, trying to be careful and wise with the latter may be the key but one can always get unlucky. When there’s a chance of having Skinchanger in play, it may be more useful not to pick a great Beorning and leave them in the discard instead (they’re also a good target with Eestor). Giant Bear is amazing for Sneak or Reinforcement, could be even preferable to Gandalf unless you need cards desperately. There should often be two good picks for Reinforcement which makes the card shine. Gandalf’s card draw almost always the best option early unless you need to shoot someone annoying like Haradrim Soldier. Having played this deck as much as any other archetype, and experimented with it for a decade, it is one of the most recommended.

Faramir’s ability is obviously very strong and there are allies who benefit especially, in different circumstances: Gléowine, Warden, Gandalf from hand, and Son of Arnor to trigger (in planning after Tale or in combat for an easy fight and extra activation). Boromir’s great, including the art, and him or father can do a lot of defending even without Gondorian Shield, using Wardens and Guards as protection.

using (MotK) Faramir would reduce startingthread below 30 and gives more questing potential. i would consider 1-2 Armored Destrier and or 1-2 Shining Shield

I think I must have played over a thousand games with different variations of this deck, and I came to a conclusion that there is no universal answer to the archetype and certain approaches will be better against some quests and others elsewhere. In coop games, Prince Imrahil and Tactics seem better, sometime Gildor Inglorion is better to draw more, and I certainly tried with more attachments, including the Destrier or the Shield, Heir of Mardil or even Staff of Lebethron. But I like to stuff as many allies in as possible to maximize the chance of a Very Good Tale indeed. I found the result of that card early on can often be decisive. A Good Harvest might not be necessary here but I like to be able to play the allies if I have them and not be dependent on Herald of Anórien too much.

if you would use (MotK) Faramir you do not need 3 Visionary Leadership so, 2 attachements (keeping 1 visionary) could be changed without reducing allies.

As I said, there surely are more ways to do it, and I have tried MotK Faramir. I find the hero version much more interesting, not saying better necessarily. Try this out, if you have time to spare, you might enjoy the deck.
