Silvan really are a fun archetype to play, and Thranduil opens up so much possibilities as a hero. Mulligan for Nenya, obviously, and O Lorien to get allies pumping out ASAP. Marksman of Lorien will be your best friend when you need to take out a big enemy, and with a couple Dunedain Warnings, Thranduil should be a top notch defender. The Elvenking can go on either Thranduil to defend more, or Celeborn, especially if he gets Mirkwood long knife. Gandalf is also here so he can quest without exhausting, thanks to Galadriel, and then wreck some baddies.
Comments and/or suggestions are great appreciated!

May 03, 2022Really like the deck (Thranduil's ability is just so much fun and is great at resource smoothing). A couple of thoughts: -Where is Orophin? I like his ability to quest for 3 and attack for 3 during the round he enters play (and his 2 allows him to soak an archery too). -I would definitely consider including Sneak Attack if you want to run Gandalf (and you can also sneak in other Silvans to trigger their abilities). -I would add a third Galadhrim Minstrel and a third copy of The Tree People. These two combine to really get your Silvan engine going. -I would also probably side-board a couple of Silvan Trackers for quests that feature lots of direct damage. Some cards that I would consider dropping to make these changes: one copy of Galion, one of the Marksman of Lórien, and Elrond's Counsel. All of these are great cards, but something's gotta go when making tweaks. Hope this is helpful! |

One of the reasons I didn't put in Sneak Attack was because I wanted to get as close to 50 cards as possible, and also, if you spend the five resources for Gandalf, you get him for the whole round, which means he can quest and attack/defend. As for Galion, I think he is the perfect target for a lot off the Silvan cards, because he costs nothing, so you can buy him back immediately. Because of this, I wanted to get him ASAP. However, I think you might be right. The Tree People should definitely have three copies. I will make that change. |

One other card that might be worth swapping out is Haldir of Lórien. He's great thematically, but there are already other allies that can quest as well, attack as well, and defend as well for cheaper cost. |
My main problem whit this hero lineup is that Galadriel and Thranduil do not work togehter. If you play the allys during the combat phase they dont get the action atvantage of galadriel´s ability and therefore can not make the double use of Celeborns ability.
