NERD 892
- Intro -
This deck's entire purpose is to abuse Vigilant Guard by making him a fearsome warrior!
The Last Alliance allows Raiment of War to go on the Vigilant Dúnadan. This allows for the infinite defending of most enemies with his 3 . Other tricks can let this vigilant defender survive hill trolls.
- Questing -
Glorfindel and Thurindir quest on the first turn. If there is no first turn enemy Gimli also quests. Otherwise, he takes an undefended hit and strikes back.
- Combat -
Once this deck's setup is complete, defense is a breeze. Thurindir's side quest powers up the Vigilant Dúnadan so he can defend infinitely. Thus, attack is no longer necessary. In case the enemies have archery or you have to kill a boss, Glorfindel and Gimli can provide some serious .
- Engines -
This deck is fairly standard when it comes to its engines. Seasoned Forager lowers cost while Daeron's Runes allows for some card filtering.
- Other -
There is no threat reduction or treachery cancelation. Woodmen's Clearing could be added, but in most quests, it is not needed. Healing is solved by Self Preservation which goes on the hero, Vigilant Dúnadan.Sterner than Steel provides shadow cancelation. Asfaloth destroys many locations.
- Tricks -
-
Henneth Annûn Guard guard can get the Vigilant Dúnadan up to 5 , allow him to defend for everyone, and approach the Valour action on Horn's Cry
-
Vigilant Guard can absorb damage to keep the Vigilant Dúnadan healthy
-
Horn's Cry, Raiment of War, Keep Watch, and Henneth Annûn Guard can let Vigilant Dúnadan defend 9 enemies infinitely.
-
If you see want you need in your starting hand, Keep Watch can be your chosen side quest, rather than Gather Information.
-
Scout Ahead can find more enemies because they are so easy to deal with late game

Jun 15, 2022I honestly have no idea what happened. I edited the deck a bunch and I guess I missed that. Add a third copy of Seasoned Forager. |
Jun 16, 2022Very cool deck! I haven’t tried a side quest deck before, but this one looks like it would be fun. I’ll give it a shot, thanks for posting! |
Cool deck! Why 49 cards though?
