Veron 90

Veron has a newer deck inspired by this one: Allies Are Gathering Fast

Quite fun deck that allows players to have multiple allies on table quite early in the game. Resource acceleration is key here and that's what the deck was built around.

You will want to quest with Théodred to trigger his Response, and with Hirgon to use his discount. Théodred resource can be assigned based on cards in hand.

Having allies early on will allow you to deal with enemies quite early in the game, triggering Mablung response at least once a turn (ideally twice) (A card I considered was Son of Arnor so to potentially add 3 resources to Mablung in one turn and to remove one enemies from the staging area - I might try sometimes but the 3 cost puts me off a little...).

Other notes on allies:

  • Guthlaf will get both his discount and sentinel traits;
  • Envoy of Pelargir is great and you can target any heroes in your line-up;
  • You can chump Squire of the Citadel with no regrets, and he leaves another resource to play with;
  • Soldier of Gondor is great for card drawing. This deck features 13 Gondor allies so chances to draw one ally are high.

A Very Good Tale will keep the swarm coming.

I will build a more quest focused deck to support this. Just to try it, I have played it with the Silvan Starter Deck and I had a great time.

Looks like a strong deck. How do you plan to use Mablung? There's Gondorian Shields and Daggers of Westernesse in the deck, but no readying to allow him to do both in a round. It doesnt solve the problem entirely, but have you considered Steed of the North? It'll allow him to quest and ready.

Brilliant suggestion @Marctimmins89, that would work! Unfortunately, I only have revised core set and the four starter decks, so I don't have that card. I was thinking of Rohan Warhorse to attach twice. I am not convinced by Cram or Magic Ring as consistent solutions.

On a different note, Wait no Longer would be solid if I had Steed of the North, or even without considering the deck with low quest power. I will try it for sure!

If you were going Wait No Longer (and had the Angmar Awakened Hero stuff) you could go Dunedain and replace Theodred with Amarthiul or Halbarad. Cram or magic Ring would work, sure. But maybe not permanently reliable. Pretty strong looking deck otherwise. How do you go for card draw?

Running Valiant Sacrifice and Foe-hammer as standard card draws. I tend to put at least 6 weapons with I run Foe-hammer. Soldier of Gondor and A Very Good Tale will help with that. But sure, card draw won't consistent.

I am working on the support deck that would cover that part as well.
