DECK NAME - Mass Murderers

OVERVIEW - The goal is to turtle on stage 1 without climbing too high. Draw cards whenever possible and get set up for future stages as we wait to acquire one or both Rangers of Ithilien.

HEROES

• Eowyn - usually quest but try and keep from making progress on stage 1 whenever possible
• Frodo - attach Song of Kings, Steward of Gondor, and Unexpected Courage; his response is a key to this deck
• Gimli - attach 2X Citadel Plate and Unexpected Courage; try not to send his resources on Beorn or Gandalf

STRATEGY

• OPENING HAND - look for an immediately useful hand; look for either Song of Kings or Steward of Gondor
• ROUND 1 - commit Eowyn only to the quest, then engage Snaga Scout and Wolves from Mordor; take Wolves from Mordor attack undefended and put the 4 damage on Gimli so he can boost his and destroy the Wolves; Frodo defends against Snaga Scout and attacks back
• STAGE 1 - turtle as long as you can while drawing cards and waiting to get a Ranger of Ithilien
• Beorn - bring into play by playing Stand and Fight
• Gandalf - trying and always play Gandalf when you can using Sneak Attack or a Born Aloft; when you play him draw cards usually
• Northern Tracker - crucial to keep from getting location locked
• Dwarven Tomb - grab Ancient Mathom or The Galadhrim's Greeting
• Feint and Hasty Stroke - great against Witch King
• Hasty Stroke - worst shadow effect in the game is the Wolves from Mordor; keep in mind that Frodo's limit once per round would be used for this shadow card but then cannot be applied to the attack damage as it is a separate instance of damage
• Stand and Fight - helps insure we don't ultimately lose allies to Cut Off!
• A Test of Will - best use is to cancel Wainrider Captain or to save Gandalf from being discarded due to Cut Off!
• RANGER OF ITHILIEN - be sure to have a character you can exhaust in case the RoI shadow card is revealed
