NERD 892
A Perilous Voyage is always a card I struggle to use. It can be hard to fit it into pre-existing archetypes. However, this deck shows that it can make a passable trap deck. The hero lineup is perfect for the contract. They each benefit substantially from not exhausting to quest.
This deck has a direct-damage subtheme. Defender of Cair Andros, Ranger Bow, Goblin-cleaver, Spear of the Citadel, Faramir, Forest Patrol, Fierce Defense, and Poisoned Stakes can kill quite a few enemies.
There is also a side-quest subtheme, enabling Vigilant DĂșnadan to defend enemies weakened by Entangling Nets, Horn's Cry, and Keep Watch. The contract synergizes nicely with these themes, providing needed card draw and helping the deck trigger Valor actions.
As if this deck needed more themes, all the titles fit nicely together. Wingfoot, Chieftain of the North, and The Renewer lower the cost of the Grey Companion.
Thurindir and Gather Information add quite a bit of consistency to such a large deck. In addition, Spring the Trap has some good targets in Faramir and Anborn.
Have fun,
NERD

May 10, 2023Probably true, I just enjoy playing with Vigilant DĂșnadan who is enabled by the side quest subtheme, and I dislike Seasoned Forager. Also, the contract does not work well with Celador. Once it flips, he will not need to ready after questing. In addition, his threat reduction does not trigger. Finally, Thurindir adds consistency. |
playin with alep, i would take Celador and Seasoned Forager or a trapdeck. i think it is more effective than Thurindir
