This would be my goodbye love letter to the game which I have spent a decade playing but for which I have very little time at the moment. It is as thematic as I can make it with the book favourites all around. And there is Henamarth a made-up character and a card I liked from the first moment I opened the core set. I have multiple sets but for the fun of it keep only a single copy of those three core-set cards present: Henamarth, Beorn and Unexpected Courage. They are all great and the deck works with just a single copy of each. There is nothing too fiddly about the deck though a few personal favourites bring more joy and winning probability: Lay of Nimrodel, for instance. Save resources for Glorfindel and double it with Fair and Perilous (and Counsel and Miruvor). There is oft one big attack needed. Charge into Battle and Light the Beacons are of a similar sort though their effect can be great. Boromir and Beorn are the primary defenders, the latter can do his great attack on the penultimate round, leaving and allowing a quester to enter for the final push (on those multiple quests that work this way). Faramir is a trick with Vilya, just like Son of Arnor used to do in the core set times with Sneak Attack. The problem (or advantage) of Vilya is that the ally stays, made here more prominent by the contract. And what a thematic one at that. Enjoy!
