usually the Defender of the Naith is one of the worst cards in the game, he dies against most attacks and most other sentinels have a cost of 2 or even one (Winged Guardian Wilyador, Gondorian Spearman ....)

he becomes o.k. with Celeborn on the table and reach its fullest greatness buffed by Narya and Arwen Undómiel.

if you can repeat that he can become defender of the whole table. there are some options:

give him more readying with his ability: "after a silvan ally leaves....." that could be with:

• a chumpblocker
• a playercardefect like Feigned Voices or The Elvenking
• Spare Hood and Cloak
• Narya

with Thranduil you can wait and play him when needed, so he get the fullest use of the bonus of Celeborn. another option is, to use Sneak Attack when u need a sentinel our of the order, a Spare Hood and Cloak on arwen make her ability usuable whenever you need it and gives another defense

everything that is said to the Defender of the Naith could be said to the Greenwood Defender, except he is only usuable at home, but with Arwen Undómiel around, he could even become a better defender than the Defender of the Naith, because he does not exhaust to defend 1. round he appear. and that is possible in flexible ways with either Thranduil or Sneak Attack

((i am not sure if he could become target of Narya if unexhausted, can he get the bonus chosen but not be exhausted?)

strategy:

mulligan for Arwen Undómiel or try to filter her out with Círdan the Shipwright. she is not mandatory for this build, but makes it very much better. then get one of the defender (a Defender of the Naith or Greenwood Defender on hand. play only in the planning, if you know there will be hard fighting this round, else keep it in hand until the big fighting come, and then play with Thranduil, or [Sneak Attack]

if you do not get a 2. defender, take the first back with (/card/01023) Feigned Voices or The Elvenking

for carddraw you have only Círdan the Shipwright and Gandalf (+ Sneak Attack but keep attention if the Sneak Attack is not better played with a defender)

if you get out a 2. defender, give him the Hauberk of Mail else he will rarely survive anything, your defender are only good the round, they come into play, so try to have allways one in hand to play with Thranduil or Sneak Attack

finishing notes:

this is a potent defensedeck but lacks a bit of carddraw and mid-lategame wi lpower (starts with cirdan and celeborn with 7 that is good). for solo i recomand loosing some theme and get Steward of Gondor and Faramir
