DECK NAME - Drain the Swamp
OVERVIEW - This quest is one of the most thematic in the game. Ever wanted to slog through a swamp where all the local fauna wants to eat you alive? This is the quest for you! Just won 10 in a row which feels good for a quest with so much unpredictability. Wins in 10 rounds usually.
HEROES
- Aragorn - attach Song of Kings and Sword that was Broken; his refresh action should be all the threat reduction needed
- Denethor - use his action to bury Giant Swamp Adder
- Grima - use his action each round for resource acceleration
STRATEGY
- OPENING HAND - mulligan for Ranger Spikes
- STAGE 2 - it normally takes me 3 Stage 2s to advance; take your time getting your army of allies out; you'll normally want to use Aragorn's refresh action before moving on to stage 3
- STAGE 3 - make sure you have a couple of allies ready to chump against Ancient Marsh-dweller in case you get the -20 engagement cost stage
- STAGE 4 - quest just so you don't threat out, and then attack and kill Ancient Marsh-dweller; be sure to chump with an ally with 2
- Anfalas Herdsman and Hunter of Lamedon - provides helpful to counter Low on Provisions treachery
- Ithilien Lookout - try to use if there's a possibility of Giant Swamp Adder and Denthor is exhausted
- Miner of the Iron Hills - a few conditions that can be removed
- Warden of Healing - crucial healing
- Elf-stone - use to put 4-5 cost allies into play for free
- Ranger Spikes - only helps with Neekerbreekers, but it's a free round
- Sword that was Broken - without this card we wouldn't be able to make the final push
- Strategy is pretty straightforward; just gotta trudge ahead for the win
