For June 2024 CotR Quest of the Week, Journey Along the Anduin
Won in 15 rounds with no net change in my threat. I sat on stage 1 for 13 rounds, built up. The key card in opening hand is Hey Dol! Merry Dol! which triggers Tom Bombadil’s effects and keeps threat down. Once Gléowine and some hobbits arrive with their Hobbit Pipes, you can draw extra cards—4 extra per turn.
Let Us Sing Together allows hobbits to become minstrels, good for both Goldberry’s passive questing effect as well as Songs of Slaying when the time comes to fight. That said, most combat is done with song playing and Tom Bombadil’s two damage, once per phase. The Lamenter of the Losts can do clean up after Tom before you need to trigger Songs of Slaying.
Defense handled by Elena with the Wooden Lyre and a Song of Wisdom and A Burning Brand. She gets easy healing via Tom Bombadil for harder attacks.
In my run at the end, I was questing for 26 without exhausting anyone, and then had a burst round that did 87 damage.
I appreciate how ALeP cards make me feel like I can build decent decks.

I think I have an idea to morph this deck for Con 2025, so stay tuned! |
This looks delightful, and exactly the kind of Minstrel deck I wanted to build before the Con, but was worried I wouldn't have time for.
