The Purple Wizard 1344

You show up to your playgroup late and your friends have already picked their decks. "What do you need me to bring?" Questing. It's always questing. Boring! And here you had this sweet new combat deck you were stoked to try out that night, but you do what you must for the good of the fellowship and reach for your same-old, same-old reliable questing deck.

This deck was built out of that frustration. Can I make a questing deck for multiplayer that's FUN? Judge for yourself if I've succeeded, but I have certainly tried! This isn't the world's best questing deck, though it is certainly solid, but Council of the Wise limits your deck to one copy of each card and that means cards you normally can't justify putting in your deck make an appearance here. If you've never seen a perfectly-timed Distant Stars play turn the game around before, this is your chance! Or maybe CĂrdan the Shipwright can save the day for a teammate with his Inspiring Presence? Trample over the enemy no one wants to engage with the cool-but-never-played Ride Them Down? The contract itself makes each event play a thoughtful one and generally you may find yourself engaged in the game much more than your standard questing deck does for you.

Or at least that's the goal! Give it a try yourself and let me know what you think.

baseidea is good, but i usually do Council of the Wise-decks with more carddraw to try to get all boons of the contract as often as possible. means i like to include Beravor (that you can do without changing everything except changing Thurindir for Beravor ) or Gildor Inglorion or Galadriel (the last 2 would need a changing of cards in the deck)

if playing with AleP (but i cant see anything in the deck?) then the Elena would be a nice thing to get you the Silver Harp 1. turn for just the cost of 1.

@doomguard All reasonable substitutions. I usually find the contract itself to be the best balancer of resource needs vs card draw, so whichever I am short on gets first use each round. That keeps the deck moving along well, and finding even one of Elven Light, Silver Harp (with Cirdan), and Dunedain Pipe keeps the deck moving.

This deck has been in my folder for years and was made pre-Alep. I stopped posting decks for many years and am just now deciding to finally put the best ones out.
