This deck is mainly multiplayer, but it also is okay as a solo deck. First turn, you want to look for Ent Draught and any form of card draw.

Glóin usually moves a resource to Bifur every turn to pay for lore cards or if you can manage to beg from other players. Most attacks are left undefended. Glóin's HP are boosted with Ent Draught , Boots from Erebor, and Hardy Leadership. Elrond can be used to completely heal Glóin in a pinch.

Attack with Treebeard , Quickbeam, and Glóin after readying with Heir of Mardil.

Boost your own or another player's WP with Faramir

It's not uncommon to use all 3 copies of Grim Resolve in a game.

I love the idea of Gloin and Treebeard in a deck together. I made a similar deck that's meant to be more solo-viable with Erkenbrand and Treebeard here: ringsdb.com The concept is very similar but I think the main difference is the include of Mirlonde (in the Bifur spot) for access to Lembas.

I your deck, having access to dwarven cards is really cool, especially Hardy Leadership. And Heir of Mardil is such a good idea when you have consistent resource gen.

Do you find that you can usually pay for Grim resolve with Gloins ability?

I guess you already answered my question in the last line!

Having Ent Draught available really opened up a lot of options in Gloin decks. I've been running some variation of this one since GenCon 2015.

I've toyed with other ideas like using Narvi's Belt to open up other spheres and other lore heroes along with Errand-rider and/or Parting Gifts to move the resources around. This one seems to be the most consistent for me and my playgroup. It doesn't have many heroes that usually conflict with what others are running (maybe Treebeard ally and ents) and it's consistent resource generation without Steward of Gondor.

I really like the idea of just letting most attacks go by undefended, and turning that into an advantage. I'll have to try a deck like this some time.

Why do you say this deck works better as a multiplayer deck than a solo one?

It's more that I built it with multiplayer in mind. It's okay in solo, but it will struggle in scenarios that start very combat heavy without another player to take some pressure off it until it gets most of the pieces in play.

@AuthrawI've played across from this and like @mbogiesays it helps to have someone take the pressure off in the early game. Once the attachments start piling up on Glóin it gets hilarious as to what can be accomplished.

@AtaruSlash Been riding the Gloin-train for about a year now. Such a fun deck to play. This deck really loves to see Elrond on the other side of the table, even though it means a few dead cards in the deck.
