Onidsen 1102

This is an mono- deck designed to introduce new players to the Leadership sphere, alongside a monosphere deck of each of the other spheres.

The basic design philosophy is to build decks that are straightforward to play, and don't require tricky interactions or remembering lasting conditions. However, the decks do include some interesting combinations for new players to explore, and aim to give a brief overview of how the sphere functions. In addition, they aim to give each player something to do during each phase of the game.

The core function of this deck is to muster a swarm of allies, and then to increase their potency with global boosts. It also offers a potent set of sentinel defenders to help through the early game, along with some innate shadow cancellation via Erkenbrand. Finally, it showcases the incredible resource generating power of the Leadership sphere, along with the ability to pass those resources around to whoever needs them the most.

Most of the allies are cheap bodies, to be boosted with Faramir and Sword that was Broken, or For Gondor! during combat. Herald of Anórien helps bring allies into play faster, while Guard of the Citadel and Envoy of Pelargir offer a decent set of base stats to boost. The Snowbourn Scout is, of course, the quintessential chump blocker, and the Warden of Helm's Deep can add additional sentinel power at need.

In combat, the deck uses Aragorn, readied during the quest phase using the resource from Théodred (if not needed elsewhere) along with Erkenbrand for defense. Aragorn should be boosted via Dúnedain Mark so that he can actually start killing enemies engaged with him, while Erkenbrand should get the Hauberk of Mail and an Armored Destrier or two to make defending easily accomplished. Ancestral Armor can make him an even more potent defender, or could be played on Aragorn, Gimli or the Warden of Helm's Deep for additional options.

The powerful combination of Sneak Attack and Gandalf of course makes an appearance, as does the global card draw boosts of Campfire Tales and Prepare for Battle. Strength of Arms offers a chance for really powerful global plays, while For Gondor! offers the tantalizing chance to make those turns truly epic.

I like Ceorl for this deck, and you could probably loose a Guard of the Citadel or two.

Ooh - Ceorl wouldn't be bad here. I like it. The Guard of the Citadel is more a thematic choice than a power card (and a 2-cost body for Herald of Anórien to bring in).
