Boop123 20

Boop123 has a newer deck inspired by this one: Gloin Engine-Inspired 2.0

Inspired by Tribster's Gloin Engine (https://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/17652/gloinresourceenginesinglecoreonly60-6.0) this is my first cut at deck building using a single core, a few Mirkwood APs, and The Black Riders. Opted for 30 cards since I didn't feel like there were other strong cards worthy of diluting the pool.

I bring Pippin here as a low threat alternative to Glorfindel and include Aragorn to help me defend against any early threats before I build up the board. It's been pretty consistent against the core scenarios so far. Pippin has given me good flexibility in terms of keeping threat down and card draw for some of the scenarios where I pull big baddies early and decide to engage and defend with Gloin. I have Hobbit Cloak to make him a bit less squishy in case I need to defend with him early on though I'm considering adding Bill the Pony for similar purpose with the added benefit of his stats.

Let me know your thoughts, I'll try to keep this updated as I play and learn.

Some more cards to consider to bump you up towards the 50 minimum: Secret Paths and Radagasts Cunning are always useful (pretty much every scenario will contain locations and enemies!).

Also, I noticed you have a few 1x for some cards when you must have more copies: if you are worried about including useless duplicates, then how about including two Protectors of Lorien? All your duplicates can then be used to fuel Protector and boost willpower or defense. (In fact Protector would work well on Gloin, as you can then better control any damage placed on him, in case a shadow card boosts the enemy's attack.)

You can use Pippin for card draw early on, but later in the game he won't generating much card draw (he's also not very consistent, either). I would suggest 2x Gleowine, that way you will still have card draw in the late game, and you will also have it every turn. (This will not only get more of the cards you want out of your deck quicker, but give you more fuel for Protector! Plus you can always use him while Pippin is still working, to get even more card draw, and you can use his duplicate to fuel Protector.)

Thanks a lot for the feedback! Really appreciate it.

I think the combo of Gléowine and Protector of Lórien provide a good balance between card draw and getting value from duplicates. In these early scenarios I think the hardest part to overcome is poor card draw early on particularly in scenarios like JatA, even with a mulligan. Playing solo that's why I've tried to keep the deck closer to 30
