Notes

Experimental stage. Not that much tested.

I looked for a good combination of heroes which do match with Saruman and noticed that these three heroes are powerful on their own. Questing with all 3 makes 8 , Frodo readies Gandalf (defending with 3 ) and Saruman can be readied with any doomed event and counter attack for 4 . Out of the box. This is why I decided to take advantage from the contract which gives you a discount for restricted attachments. Which both staves are...

Most other attachments are just restricted ones, to hopefully quest with even more willpower.

In late game Gandalf can defend up to 3 times without any shadow effects. Remove the first shadow card with his staff, then ready him 2 times with Armored Destrier and remove other shadow cards. If there are less enemies to defend (hopefully) he also attacks together with Saruman. Both alone do have 7 , plus whatever weapons Saruman has attached.

Starting Hand

Saruman's Staff, Word of Command, Gandalf's Staff any restricted attachments. In that order.

If you are lucky and get both staves you can play them both and you still have a resource left for Frodos ability!

Sideboard

Dagger of Westernesse is a replacement for Blade of Gondolin when playing a quest without orcs.

Leather Boots: another way to ready Saruman, usefull only in multi player

Steed of Imladris, Silver Circlet: other restricted attachments, but suitable for Gandalf only. And complicated to play.

A Test of Will, Flame of Anor: other cards worth considering.

Also all other events which do have a doomed effect. These are not my favourites (and in case of Horns! Horns! Horns! don't make much sense in here).

Keys of Orthanc are not really worth it, because so far I did not raised the thread enough to make that card worth it.

I disagree with your starting hand, Gandalf's Staff is top priority in my opinion.

If you want to compare, I made a Three Hunters deck with the same heroes a few times ago, but with more focus on Frodo thanks to Ancestral Armor.

Ancestral Armor is expensive, even with the discount from Forth, The Three Hunters!. Never really tried that one.

Gandalf Staff is quite powerful in here. Costs one one resource and immediately gives it back or you can cancel a shadow card. But in my (so far quite limited) experience with this set up the possibilities from Saruman (and not having skyrocketing all players threat) are insane.

Anyhow, thank you for your thoughts, I will keep the next starting hand when having only Gandalfs Staff. :) And I will take a deeper look at the linked deck., too.
