nice idea for a 2 hero-secrecydeck

i asume, dunhere should attack in the staging and optimally use herugrim.

i suggest Dúnedain Mark Dúnedain Quest and The Favor of the Lady to boost it more.

I really like the combo! A couple of key changes I think could help make this deck sing:

In a secrecy deck, I feel like Strider is a must. Boosts your Willpower and gives you additional hero action while you are building your board state.

My biggest issue with this deck is the lack of card draw. Based on all the location control, I think Ancient Mathom is a great fit. You can also consider Horn of the Mark, but I don't think the allies as they currently stand would be best served from that.

I also think it makes sense to add Gúthwinë as that and/or Herugrim can help Dunhere get rolling, especially if you give him Strider.

All told changes I would make are:

+2 Strider

+3 Ancient Mathom

+1 Gúthwinë

-1 Steward of Gondor (Feels like a win more card)

-1 Derufin (Doesnt quite fit the archetype and you cant recover him after discarding)

-1 Steed of the Mark (Westfold Horse-breeder helps dig these out so you don't need that many)

-2 Rivendell Scout (I love that it's free in Secrecy, but you won't have issues paying for things with 3 Resourceful)

-1 Celduin Traveler

-1 Swift and Silent (Great card, but I think the other events take precedence

With your heros looking like:

Elfhelm with Armored Destrier and Snowmane so he is questing and defending twice each round.

Dunhere with Steed of the Mark, Strider, Guthwine and Herugrim

Hope this helps!

@doomguard If he can keep his threat low enough (and he has plenty reduction) he should be able to keep recurring Courage Awakened for Dunhere and Herugrim.

Strider is my suggestion.

Hope you have it.

@SubwayTolkienGreat idea to put Strider on Dúnhere. Works pretty much the same as Snowmane but gives him an early boost for for questing and Herugrim shenanigans though he'll lose the boost as soon there's more than 5 allies out.

Gúthwinë seems an obvious choice when using Strider instead of Snowmane.

I'm not sure why you don't think Derufin doesn't fit the deck (you do realise this is a companion deck right?) I have found him quite useful so far for helping to deal with low engagement enemies that have engaged my other deck and he can be recurred via Gamling after using his ability.

I did feel the need for extra card draw tbh, though Ancient Mathom is in the companion deck so it wasn't too bad. Having 3 more copies wouldn't hurt.

I'm glad that was helpful! Honestly, i realized it after the fact, but I still thought the changes were appropriate so i left it (hence me adding Ancient Mathom while it was in the other deck).

Regarding Derufin, he has the Gondor and Warrior trait so I don't think Gamling or Gúthwinë can bring him back (right?). Ironically Elfhelm would be the ideal replacement in terms of effect.

If you don't have 3 more copies of Ancient Mathom, I would replace with Horn of the Mark (to be put on Elfhelm) and then swap Snowmane for the third Steed of the Mark so you don't have issues with too many Restricted attachments.

I think you will trigger it enough that it will be helpful and somewhat consistent, and it will trigger on every character leaving play except Wandering Took and Northern Tracker so you should get fairly regular and consistent card draw.

@SubwayTolkien haha, you're right. I'm not sure why I thought Derufin would work. I think perhaps because he is mounted in the artwork I just assumed he was from Rohan! Oh well. In that case, yes he's pretty useless here except for being ranged. I think in that case, another copy of Rohirrim Scout might be useful for keeping low engagement enemies in the staging area. One of the problems with this fellowship is that when Pippin pushes back enemies, they end up engaging this deck.
