Thematic Saga Series: Deck 7
A Journey in the Dark
Series Overview
Welcome to the Thematic Saga Series, where I will be taking the most thematic decks possible against a modified Saga Campaign, on DragnCards. Here are the rules for this Campaign:
1: Your decks must be as accurate as possible to the books. So in A Shadow of the Past's case, because it takes place in the Shire, I will only be using Hobbit allies.
2: I am allowed to change heroes to fit the theme and I will not be incurring the +1 threat penalty while swapping heroes this way. For example, if I used an ally version of Legolas or Gimli in The Breaking of the Fellowship, I could swap heroes so I can us them as heroes in The Uruk-Hai.
I follow the rest of the rules for a standard Campaign.
The Theme
You can't get more thematic than a Fellowship Fellowship deck.
Game Notes
The contract got flipped relatively early, thanks to some Gandalf's Staff card draw. I only removed 1 extra damage token from Doom, doom, doom at stage one, and the three enemies at stage 2 came quickly. When I got to stage 3, The Balrog was a round away from coming out. Ironically, Gandalf was the only hero who was very prepared and was stacked with attachments. Fortunately, I had a Feint in my hand, and after Gandalf was sacrificed, I just Feinted him, or Frodo'd him. Legolas and his merry band of Balrog-bashers were able to finish him off fairly easily. 14 direct damage isn't too bad, if I do say so myself (:
46 Threat,
12 Rounds,
59 Victory Points.
14 threat of fallen heroes.
Boons Earned: None.
Burdens Earned: Overcome by Grief, Pursued by the Enemy.
Hope you enjoy, In the next scenario we will all cry for Boromir...
