Emmental 501
This is an old deck i played during the beginning of a mono- Saga (until Saruman had to leave after "facing" a Balrog and coming back to Isengard). I may have modified it a little when playing it but can't remember exactly which cards (i have a memory of a Thane Fyrial during Fog on the Barrow-downs).
This is a Vilya mono deck. We replace Gandalf's passive by Saruman ability to ready, so we can use Word of Command to fetch our combo cards (or make an additionnal )
After a few turns, your board will be set up but your threat will be near 50, so attach The Fall of Gil-Galad to your Istari and drop your threat by 13. Gildor Inglorion can serve as Stargazer/Wizard pipe replacement.
Note : Side B of Fellowship forbids you to put allies into play, but not heroes. I like to use the following combo when i'm on side B :
- use Wizard pipe to set up top deck card
- take an undefended attack to kill Saruman and drop my threat. Contract flips back to side A
- use Vilya to get another ally in play and filp back to side B
- use Gildor to put The Houses of Healing on my deck
- during restauration, get Saruman back with Vilya. You have now 10 unique characters.
In case of threat emergency in late swap Saruman for a threat-control hero like Beregond (5 with contract) or Frodo (for a readying during quest).

Nov 11, 2021You have the full drawing package (Mithrandir's Advice, Deep Knowledge, Daeron's Runes). And all you need is one Word of Command to find the fall of Gil-Galad. |

Asfaloth together with Glorfindel is such a good combo, seeing lore Glorfindel is quite rare. So, thumbs up. Though; isn't a starting threat of 38 a bit high? Especially with no real threat reduction?! (For me, it feels like you can spare your Istari only during end-game, not allready mid-game...) Follow up question: Is The Fall of Gil-Galad (and Helm of Secrecy shenanigans) with a total of two cards in the deck a reliable way of threat control?
