NERD 892
The goal of this deck is quite simple: Discard a ton of cards and then use Men of the West to get more Outland allies than Erestor can. While this deck is definitely unrefined and imperfect. It is my attempt. Feedback is appreciated!
The contract can do a bunch of awesome things:
- Lower cost (obviously)
- Allow any Outlands boost to hit dwarves
- Let Dáin Ironfoot boost all allies via Thorongil
- Lay of the Nauglamír can bring in two allies (who can bring in two more via A Very Good Tale)
- Legacy of Durin can trigger off any ally

Aug 17, 2022interesting idea to combine mining with outlands. would definetly add Hidden Cache Ered Luin Miner and Imladris Stargazer everything else is said by kjeld |
Aug 17, 2022Thank you for the feedback! I did not even give this deck a proper description as I do with most of my other decks, so I am shocked to get this much feedback this quickly. Hidden Cache is a card that should be included (I made a version of this deck without the contract and included cache there, so I am not sure what happened here. Dwarven Tomb was to make sure I could get back Will of the West. However, it, Will of the West, and Nori are probably not needed as this is a speed deck. Gaining Strength is also a good idea. Unfortunately, Imladris Stargazer cannot be included. I also realized that A Test of Will would probably be a good addition. However, it is pretty boring. That is why I excluded Steward of Gondor. |
Lay of the Nauglamír is cool here, but really expensive -- it seems the earliest you can normally play it is turn 3, when ideally you'd want it turn 2 or better yet turn 1. You might get Zigil Miner or We Are Not Idle to help out some, but adding in Hidden Cache would further accelerate the combo. You might also think about Gaining Strength, which works with Bifur on turn 1. I'd actually also consider Legacy of Númenor and Deep Knowledge to really emphasize the burst potential turn 1.
An ideal first turn might look like this:
Cards you could take out:
Stand and Fight - nice, but not necessary (To me! O my kinsfolk! would be better, actually)
Dwarven Tomb - nice, but not necessary
Narvi's Belt - not necessary with Zigil Miner King Under the Mountain - too slow/expensive
Will of the West - substitute for Nori (can be played with either Hirluin the Fair or A Very Good Tale)
1-2x Erebor Record Keeper - an excellently efficient ally for most dwarf decks, but not really central to the core engine here; would be better to bring more Warrior of Lossarnach
