  • He's mainly here due to his setup action. Gather Information should be his preferred choice.
  • Besides, having two heroes makes it viable to include expensive cards like the Sentry and the Snare.

Notes:

• Mulligan for Heir of Valandil or Wingfoot.
  • Rumour from the Earth is also a great card to see in the opening hand (since turtling is our major strategy here). Don't be afraid spending 1 resource every round on it.
• This deck has several ways to deal with engaged enemies. Being able to snare 3 of them before moving on will be our best possible scenario:
  • Then, Heir of Valandil will allow us to play any ally spending no more than 1 resource per round.
  • In addition, Amarthiúl won't need to face nasty shadow effects coming from long-term engaged enemies.
  • If we already got a Dúnedain Watcher or Self Preservation, there is no need to wait that long.
• Dúnedain Watchers are mainly here to preserve Amarthiúl's health. Their ability is worth their cost.
• Northern Tracker and Vigilant Dúnadan have great stats and abilities. Their main handicap here is their belonging sphere.
  • Vigilants will be easier to play than Trackers.
• Weather Hills Watchman will be helpful to find signals and thin our deck at the same time.
• Dúnedain Pipe improves card-drawing and allows to remove duplicates from hand.
• Best targets for Gather Information:
  • Thalion (an expensive ally, but his readying ability will be there from the beginning)
  • The Storm Comes (Trackers are dead cards while the storm is not in play)
  • Self Preservation or any other non-"mulligained" card.
• Keep Watch is a good card to deal with engaged enemies and it also helps to fulfill Thalion's 2nd ability.
  • Entangling Nets + Outmatched combo is another great alternative to deal with them.
  • Finally, all our issues will be gone with the Forest Snare.

Sideboard:

• Eldahir
  • His stats are solid, but this deck already has two good defenders and several 4-cost allies.
  • Besides, we also have the Rumour from the Earth for spending resources in special actions each round.
• Haleth's response is a great ability for this deck.
  • She's is not a dúnedain, though, but I believe it's fine having an edain walking among them.
• Thorongil is a natural choice for Aragorn and can provide an alternative to paying Northern Trackers.
• Rune-master is another way of resource acceleration.
  • It could be an option, given the amount of signals present in the deck, but Heir of Valandil is enough.
• Knowledge of the Enemy falls into the same consideration as Rune-master. Heir of Valandil does the same trick more consistently.
