80 cards. A dud hero. And out of sphere play? What is this nonsense?
I'll tell you what it is. It's the best darn Noldor deck I've ever played with. I'm not looking for optimal play here, so you can keep "you need Arwen/Eowyn" to yourself. I got it. Three decks have paired (MotK) Galdor of the Havens with Círdan the Shipwright and there are plenty still that paired Círdan the Shipwright with Bilbo Baggins, but none that went with all three.
Your goal is to outpace Erestor. Trust me, this is an easy task.
Out the gate, you are drawing 3 + 1 cards: One normal, one for Bilbo, and one for Cirdan. Then, once you trigger the forced on Cirdan, (MotK) Galdor of the Havens triggers. The best part of this combo is that we are JUST GETTING STARTED.
That's right. You're mulliganing for Stone of Elostirion to give you + 2 willpower and another card. Next task will be a little harder, which is Narya + Prepare for Battle.
Now we are drawing 5 + 1 card, each round. Now we are laughing at Erestor decks while slightly sweating that our deck of 80 cards MIGHT NOT BE BIG ENOUGH.
We have a lot more control over our cards than an Erestor deck, but in reality, I am usually having trouble emptying my hand to trigger Lindir. I know I can certainly just keep triggering To the Sea, to the Sea! even with no allies.
What is Thorongil for you ask? Well for the measly cost of 3 resources, you get Galdor of the Havens who can bring you back to 6 cards if your hand is empty. What a deal!
Red cards? Easy discards. You can bring them back with Reforged or Stand and Fight. Wild Stallion + Watcher of the Bruinen is an awesome combo.
When you are drawing so many cards, Protector of Lórien really shines. Just keep tossing cards. I have found that Silver Harp really pays for itself in the long run.
One drawback on this deck is that it is hurting for resources. "Exactly why you need to bring Arwen Undómiel instead of Galdor!" you say.
No.
Nothing a couple Song of Travels can't solve.
This deck works really well in solo play, but you have to share the love in multiplayer. Please note -- I have not tried it in multiplayer. I do not like surrendering Bilbo and Prepare for Battle to other players, though I know other players would love you for bringing this deck, which handles itself well enough on questing and combat.
Happy drawing!

Apr 29, 2021why no Drinking Song ? |
Apr 29, 2021This is great. BTW I don't think Bilbo is a dud. I really like him, contrary to the majority of other player's opinions. Yeah, his threat is high, but one copy of Elrond's Counsel undoes his "extra" threat. His effect is really good, and for me that outdoes his threat downside. |
Looks like an absolutely mad deck! I love it!
