start with 2 pipes, 1. from Bilbo Baggins 2. from The Grey Wanderer and search for an event thx to Spare Pipe, you might get an event with threadreduction and can draw another card after use with Hobbit Pipe
strategy:
build boardstate with allies and reduce thread with events for drawing
to do that:
- try to use Timely Aid as often as possible, if you have none, use Drinking Song to get one
- get Gandalf into play and equip him with, Wild Stallion, Gandalf's Staff, Shadowfax, Narya
- use discount of Smoke and Think for expensive allies or Keen as Lances (you start with discount of 2 and can be done better)
- you have 9-12 events that reduce thread so try to draw a card every round
- put Spare Pipe to Bilbo Baggins or Gandalf when he is out
- Bree-land Protector for attacking or against shadow
- one of the hobbitallies for the 2. Hobbit Pipe
- Master Burglar is good even if you have to pay for it
